Webflow Vs Wordpress

Learn the difference between Webflow and WordPress.

When it comes to choosing a new website to manage this over time, there are endless ones to choose from. Mainly is the battle between Webflow and WordPress. Webflow is the new rebel and WordPress is bigger and older. Wix and Squarespace are also an option, but aren't in the same league as these two we're going to be talking about today. For many, this is a comparison that actually matters and it has caused some uproar throughout the market. We're going to compare Webflow and WordPress so you have all the information you need to choose the right solution for you. We've done the research so you don't have to.

Both Webflow and WordPress are two powerful CMS platforms that combine an easy-to-use dashboard with a well-designed front-end that's responsive across all devices.  These platforms put everything under the same roof, you don't have to have any coding experience. You can do everything yourself, but should be able to design and have some experience.

Webflow is a modern cms platform that has had a rapid growth in a very short time. They focus on design and speed, so you can have a beautiful website that's lightning fast for anyone visiting, without having to install many apps or extensions. Webflow are still the new ones, even if they have been around for 8 years.

WordPress, on the other hand, is a very established modern CMS platform. They have been around for many years and have built an ecosystem that enables to collect many websites thanks to the large community of developers and designers who create extensions, even apps for the software.

Let's compare some of the key features and see how the two platforms stand out:

- Webflow certainly wins in this department. Their design-focused approach means that you don't necessarily have to choose a particular theme and be limited by it, but you can start from a whole blank page if you want. They also have some templates available, but customizing everything makes it much more customizable than WordPress.

- WordPress goes with a theme approach, so you have to choose one that suits you and adjust it from there. There's a lot to choose from, so it might be a good option if you're looking for something generic, but you're not going to get the same level of creative freedom that you get with Webflow.

- Webflow is much more efficient from a coding perspective due to their closed ecosystem. The platform comes with a wide range of tools built-in right in, keeps things tight and keeps the site very fast.

- WordPress relies on external plugins, and because they're all made by different developers with different visions, it becomes a bit much of everything. There's also no mention of the constant updates you need to make to keep everything going as expected.

- Webflow offers free SSL security on all their websites. They have monitored threats to ensure that the site is always protected.

- WordPress can't offer that kind of security because it's a completely open platform. This opens up serious vulnerabilities that you need to be aware of if you choose WordPress.

- WordPress is open source software, so you can get started for free, giving you a price advantage over Webflow. What's worth knowing here, however, is the extra costs you incur with web hosting, domain registration, and premium themes.

- Webflow is more expensive on paper because they include everything from hosting, design, advanced SEO. You get what you pay for here because you can leverage the closed ecosystem, design functionality, and support through being a customer.

Customer service

" One of the best parts about Webflow is the support they provide to their customers. If you scroll through some online reviews, you'll see that they've put a lot of emphasis on making support as efficient as possible. It's there for you when you need it.

- WordPress support relies more on the large community. To get quick help with something you're stuck with, you need to be resourceful enough to find the information you're looking for. Because of the size of this, they can't offer the one-on-one support that Webflow does.

- Webflow's CMS has a very minimalist interface that gets rid of all the clutter and delivers a clean functionality you need. It is simple and built for speed. Our sites score very well on google speed.

- The WordPress dashboard, on the other hand, is more complex and unprofessional in a way. (in our opinion) Because they still receive app features and extensions by developers. It provides more features and customizations than Webflow, but at the expense of speed and simplicity.

These are some of the key features to consider when creating a
Website. Now let's look at the main differences that distinguish the two platforms.
I repeat that if you have not been away in any of these before, then we recommend putting away the job of someone who can. (quick to make mistakes)

So which one should you choose?

There's no one to remain the best option, but it really depends on what you're trying to achieve. For those who aren't interested in advanced design customizations or page speed, they can use a free WordPress theme and a variety of plugins to get great results. There is a reason why WordPress operates about 40% of the internet ATM. It has achieved exceptional success and continues to dominate around CMS platforms online.

But we think that there are some gaps in the WordPress offering that make Webflow a much better option for serious players. WordPress on the current scale has become too big and slow, which doesn't bode well for a long-term perspective in a very competitive market.

From our perspective, Webflow represents the future, while WordPress represents the past and the older guard.

On the features we care about, Webflow has a new perspective on what matters, and has delivered a well-rounded offering that prioritizes web speed, design functionality and security to deliver a website that looks professional, is secure and can create a truly unique experience for everyone who visits your site.

It is also worth noting that Webflow is an absolute rocket ship. It is growing at an enormous pace and continues to innovate. In a short time, it has become one of the biggest names in the industry and we do not expect it to decline any time soon. But do not take our word for it, there is a large selection of other reviews and comparisons you can look through online.

As an agency, we only use Webflow for a website and Shopify for an online store or a mix.
Only the best of the best.
